Witch funeral, a rebirth of an old band with a new sprit. Witch Funeral started as a black/thrash metal/Punk Crust project by B. Funeral (drums) and J. Madness (vocals and guitar) in the garage of J. Madness, there the songs like "Wings of Devastation" and Full Moon Over a Witch Funeral" were born. The Witch wanted to go live as soon as possible so they went on the hunt for a bassist, V. Depressor was chosen as a bass player.
Together they made the four songs you can hear in the bootleg “Once upon a Funeral” that was only limited for 25 copies. Later we all realize we needed more boost so we went for a second guitarist. First was Jani (from Materia) who helped to record the song “Wings of Devastation” for a compilation, he left for personal reasons. Then our good friend Dnomed came who was the guitarist for In Emptiness. The boost was good and we made our mark on the scene. We used corpse and war paint and bloody inverted cross on stage for shock value. The V. Depressor left the witch for good. We use a friend of ours named Pipe to play the bass for a show; the guy who wore the Nazi shirt on the show with the band “At Odds With God”, then came L. Vonslaughter, the first girl to play bass in a Black/thrash metal band in the island (Not including Matriarch, they are melodic blackened death) . Then the witch got split and took a new course. On 2011 J. Madness gave the old songs to B. Funeral and Dnomed and they formed “Raped Witch” with basically Witch Funeral old influences. Then Witch Funeral got revive as a Post-Black Metal band in the vein of Xasthur, Leviathan, Lantlos, Wolves in the Throne Room, Lifelover, Nachtmystium, Woods of Desolation, etc. A compilation with the old songs from the first bootleg and from the unreleased demo “Path to the 9
th Circle of Hell”, live songs and a bonus track, is going to be out on November 19 is titled “Descent into Madness”
